| Startup Management Primer |

As the title suggests, Startup Management Primer, is written for the fortunate individuals who have opportunity to manage a startup venture. The slate is clean. The venture will become what you make it. So, what do you do to make sure your new company is successful? Your company may perform rocket science, but manage- ment of the company is not. | The following is sample from the book introduction You are an entrepreneur working to start a business and are unsure about how to build your new company. You are not about to admit to the investors, but after you cross the big hurdle – getting funded – then what? Typically, you have enlisted cronies to help run the company. Why not? These are individuals you know. You know their strengths and weaknesses. They are, hopefully, loyal to you. How well you do in managing the business is dependent on yours and the cronies’ management skills. But, more often than not, you will be replaced by a CEO selected by the investors to do what you failed to do – effectively manage the company. The alternative is to establish and implement an effective management system that allows you to skip the “entrepreneur to manager” stage and grow the company seamlessly. But how? |
